Chelsea youngsters hit back to beat Zenit

Dominic Solanke was instrumental once again as Chelsea’s Under-19s came from behind to beat Zenit St Petersburg 3-1 and reach the Uefa Youth League quarter-finals.

The Russian side took an early lead in the game at Aldershot but Chelsea were level by half-time courtesy of Solanke’s header from Tammy Abraham’s corner.

Chelsea took control after the break, going close through Isaiah Brown’s effort before substitute Kasey Palmer fired them into the lead.

Zenit had a player sent off before the young Blues sealed their victory with a penalty by Charlie Colkett, who slotted home after Solanke had been brought down by the visiting keeper.

Chelsea will be at home to Atletico Madrid in the last eight.
