No Arsenal approach for Cech – Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the club have not received an approach from Arsenal for Petr Cech.

The Gunners have been linked with a £7m move for the goalkeeper, 32, with Chelsea reported to be willing to accept their offer.

There has been speculation that AC Milan are among several European clubs also interested in Cech, who has been tipped to leave when the transfer window opens in January after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois.

Mourinho on Cech

But Mourinho said: “I promise what I’m telling you is the truth. On my desk – and normally all information arrives at my desk – I have zero proposals.

“At this moment ‘news’ is coming every day, every minute, every second – some news on some website, I don’t know where they get the news.

“In this moment Cech is our goalkeeper. He has a contract for two more years and is a fantastic professional.”

There has also been speculation that Cech, who has been at Stamford Bridge for more than 10 years, could ask for a move.

Mourinho added: “Not once has Petr Cech knocked on my door to inform me about his desire to accept some proposal. That is the truth and there is nothing more I can say.”
