Chelsea youngsters draw with Tottenham

Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek appeared to pick up a knock as his team drew 0-0 with Tottenham in the Under-21 Premier League.

Loftus-Cheek, who made his Premier League debut earlier this year, went off eight minutes before half-time in the game at Staines Town’s Wheatsheaf Park ground, where a brilliant injury-time save by keeper Luke McGhee secured a draw for Spurs.

McGhee did superbly to keep out Izzy Brown’s header and Tammy Abraham’s attempt to force home the loose ball was deflected on to the bar.

Before that, McGhee produced saves to deny Dominic Solanke and Jeremie Boga, while Brown, Loftus-Cheek and Charlie Colkett also went close for the home side.

At the other end, Cristian Ceballos’ shot squirmed past keeper Mitchell Beeney and on to the post.
