Chelsea’s Under-21s edged out by Saints

Chelsea’s youngsters lost 1-0 to holders Southampton in the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Wednesday evening.

Saints goalkeeper Fraser Foster returned to action after a serious knee injury and produced fine saves to keep the visitors at bay before and after Ryan Seager scored seven minutes into the second half.

Forster did brilliantly to claw away a header from Tammy Abraham (pictured) and to keep out an effort from Kasey Palmer.

Chelsea’s Under-21s are next in action on Monday, when they face Tottenham.
