Aina scores from halfway line as Chelsea youngsters beat Spurs

Chelsea: Tammy Abraham

Ola Aina scored from the halfway line and Tammy Abraham continued his prolific season as Chelsea’s Under-21s beat Tottenham 5-2 at Stevenage’s Broadhall Way.

The Blues were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes, with Reece Mitchell’s shot going in via the underside of the crossbar and Kasey Palmer doubling the lead as he fired into the corner.

On 35 minutes, right-back Aina, captaining the Chelsea team, produced the goal of the night as his lofted effort from 50 yards dropped in.

Tottenham pulled two goals back in the second half, through Anton Walkes’ deflected shot and William Miller’s header.

But Chelsea made the game definitively safe late on when Abraham (pictured) converted from Fankaty Dabo’s cross and the striker made it 21 goals for the season in added-on time.
