Fabregas has surgery on broken nose

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has undergone surgery on the broken nose that left him wearing a facemask during the title run-in.

The Spaniard had difficulty breathing after suffering the injury against Stoke City last month. The clash with Charlie Adam also left him with two black eyes.

The operation has solved his breathing problems, although he has had to miss the club’s post-season friendlies in Thailand and Australia.

It is the second time Fabregas has broken his nose in a game, after suffering the same fate while playing for Spain in 2008.
