More than 83,000 see Blues win in Sydney

Loic Remy scored the only goal as a Chelsea squad full of young talent beat Sydney FC 1-0 in their second post-season friendly.

French attacking midfielder Jeremie Boga impressed in the number 10 role, while Nathan Ake, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen, Dominic Solanke, Jordan Houghton and Charly Musonda were among those given valuable game time by manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho named an experienced starting line-up against the Australian A-League side and Chelsea had the better chances throughout in front of more than 83,000 fans at the ANZ Stadium.

Diego Costa almost scored after a wonderful early run and Remy went close before he curled in a superb opening goal after cutting in from the right flank.

Petr Cech did have to make a couple of fine saves to keep the Premier League champions ahead.

But Chelsea had numerous chances to increase their lead, with Remy going closest when his header was cleared off the line.

Solanke scored as the Blues began their tour with a 1-0 win over the Thailand All-Stars on Saturday.
