MK Dons manager Robinson hails Baker

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has told his club’s website he believes he has landed one of the country’s most talented young players in Lewis Baker.

The 19-year-old Chelsea midfielder, who was recently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, will spend the rest of the season on loan with Robinson’s side.

He has been brought in following the news that Dons star Dele Alli faces a spell on the sidelines with an injury.

Robinson said: “Lewis is one of the most gifted young midfielders in England and I’m looking forward to working with him for the rest of the season.

“Obviously with Dele out for up to six weeks, Lewis gives us another option in midfield.

“He also knows where the goal is too, which is clear by the amount he scored last season – a great achievement at any age level.

“I am confident that this addition will give us a real push at an important time in the season.”

Baker is expected to make his Dons debut in Saturday’s game against Coventry City.
