Bamford’s Boro loan spell is extended

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford has extended his loan deal at Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined the Blues from Nottingham Forest on a five-year deal in January 2012 but has yet to play a first-team game for his parent club.

Since then Bamford has impressed in loan spells with MK Dons and Derby County, and has scored eight goals in 19 games this season to help Boro climb to fourth place in the Chamionship table.

England Under-21 international Bamford has scored 37 goals in 67 starts and a total of 86 appearances during his loan spells.
