Wenger apologises for pushing Blues boss

Arsene Wenger has told French television channel TF1 he regrets pushing Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho during Arsenal’s recent defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners boss walked into Chelsea’s technical area and shoved Mourinho in the chest during the game, which Wenger’s side lost 2-0.

Wenger initially insisted he had “nothing to regret” about the incident but has now apologised.

He said: “Too much importance was given to this story but I should not have reacted like this. I always regret any signs of violence and I apologise for it.”

Wenger reacted angrily to a challenge from Chelsea defender Gary Cahill’s on Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
