Drummy in contention for Palace job

Chelsea’s Dermot Drummy has emerged as a contender for the manager’s job at Crystal Palace.

The 53-year-old, who has worked at Stamford Bridge since 2009, has been sounded out about the position at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles are assessing their options following the recent departure of Tony Pulis, with plans to appoint Malky Mackay having been scrapped and Tim Sherwood ruling himself out.

Drummy has won the FA Youth Cup and Under-21 Premier League during his time at Chelsea.

Earlier this summer he left his role as Under-21s boss to take a new job as the club’s international head coach.
