Drogba limps off as Blues win in Hungary

Didier Drogba picked up an injury as Chelsea ended their pre-season tour of Europe with a 2-1 win against Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

Ramires scored a second-half equaliser for the Blues before Cesc Fabregas netted a brilliant winner at the new Groupama Arena in Budapest, where Drogba limped off after half an hour.

The Ivorian striker, who recently returned to Chelsea for a second spell at the club, landed awkwardly after going up for a header and seemed to hurt his ankle. He attempted to carry on but was eventually substituted.

By that stage Chelsea were behind to a goal from former Fulham man Zoltan Gera, who fired home at the far post.

Ramires sent a left-footed volley into the top corner of the net soon after the interval and Chelsea then almost went ahead when Fabregas’ free-kick was headed against the post by Gary Cahill.

But Fabregas eventually put Jose Mourinho’s side into the lead in fine style, finishing nicely after breezing past two defenders.

The summer signing from Barcelona could have scored again but missed the target with his header after being found by Victor Moses.

Diego Costa also missed a late chance for Chelsea when he shot wide with only the keeper to beat.

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech; Azpilicueta (Moses 68), Christensen (Ivanovic 45), Zouma (Van Ginkel 79), Luis (Cahill 45); Mikel (Matic 60), Ramires (Hazard 60); Schurrle (Salah 45), Willian (Fabregas 45), Torres (Costa 45); Drogba (Oscar 31).
