Cuadrado ‘will have his time’ at Chelsea

Manager Jose Mourinho believes Juan Cuadrado will become a “fantastic” player for Chelsea next season.

The £26.1m winger has only started two games since joining from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina in January, with a further six appearances as a substitute.

But Mourinho is convinced the Colombian will be a big success at Stamford Bridge once he adapts to life in the Premier League.

“Next season, I really feel he can have a fantastic season,” Mourinho said.

“A player needs time and I am ready to give him time and the club is ready to give him time. It looks like he’s ready to have time.

“But if he feels pressure having to play every game, or play every time because he has the Copa America in the summer for Colombia

“I respect all the national teams but I coach Chelsea; I do the best for Chelsea.

“Cuadrado will have his time, step by step, but he needs a bit of time. Sometimes it is something players are not given.”
