Costa to miss Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifier

Chelsea striker Diego Costa will miss Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Ukraine and a friendly with the Netherlands.

He was substituted during Chelsea’s 3-2 win at Hull on Sunday and Blues boss Jose Mourinho said afterwards that the 26-year-old was struggling with a hamstring injury.

Costa, signed from Atletico Madrid last summer, has been nursing a hamstring problem for much of the season.

The Spanish Football Federation announced on Tuesday that Costa will return to Chelsea for medical treatment and that Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has called up Malaga striker Juanmi in his place.
