Costa likely to return against West Brom

Diego Costa is expected to return to the Chelsea side for Monday’s game at West Brom.

Costa has scored 19 goals for the newly-crowned Premier League champions this season despite a hamstring problem troubling him for much of the campaign.

He has not featured since limping off soon after coming on as a substitute during the win against Stoke at Stamford Bridge on 4 April.

But the striker has returned to full training and is likely to play at The Hawthorns, where Chelsea will be without Oscar, Ramires, Kurt Zouma and Petr Cech.

Goalkeeper Cech, who has been tipped to leave the club this summer, is nursing a minor injury but could be available for the final-day match at home to Sunderland a week on Sunday.

Ramires has a kidney problem and will miss the final two games, as will Oscar, who has a thigh injury, and Zouma, who limped off during the recent win against Liverpool.

“For Ramires and Oscar the season is over, for Zouma the season is over. Petr Cech has a chance to be back for the last match,” confirmed boss Jose Mourinho.

“Diego Costa I think is selected for this game. I cannot confirm it now, but with two days to train I think he should be ready.”
