Costa expected to return against QPR

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho expects Diego Costa to return to action in Saturday’s west London derby against QPR.

The Blues’ top scorer has been struggling with illness and an ongoing hamstring problem.

He has missed their last four matches but looks likely to be available to face Rangers, as does Ramires, who has been recovering from a muscle injury.

Loic Remy will miss the game against his former club because of a groin problem.

And with veteran striker Didier Drogba having led the line for the best part of three games despite fitness issues of his own, Costa’s return would be a timely boost.

Mourinho said: “Normally Ramires and Diego Costa are back. Normally we will have only Remy as an injured player and Cesar Azpilicueta suspended.”

Rangers, meanwhile, are hoping midfielders Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch are able to return to the squad following hamstring injuries.
