Chelsea boss Antonio Conte said his side must be more ruthless with their chances following the 1-0 victory away against Bournemouth.

Conte’s side dominated possession and territory but missed numerous opportunities to wrap up the points.

Alvaro Morata had a goal ruled out for offside and wasted two other good first-half openings, while Pedro and Cesc Fabregas also had chances.

Conte said: “We created many chances to score but in the first half we could be more clinical. In this type of game you must be able to kill the game. Otherwise you risk a draw.”

Conte said the performance was still good and his side “did a lot of positive things”.

He added: “I am very happy because we played a good game and played good football against a team with great organisation. We controlled the game

“I must be pleased. For a big part of the game we played very well, with maturity and with good possession and tried to create chances.

“A win was very important and it is a good win before another tough game against Roma in the Champions League [on Tuesday].”
