Conte denies wanting more say on transfers

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has denied he is not happy with the way the club conducts its transfer business.

Some reports have suggested that the Italian is frustrated at not having more of a say in Chelsea’s signings, which are overseen by director Marina Granovskaia and technical director Michael Emenalo.

But Conte said that suggestions he has demanded more input were “not true”.

“I don’t understand it,” the Italian added. “Honestly, I have a good relationship.

“When I need something I speak with the club and we find always to try to find the right solution – but always together.

“If we take always the right solution it is very difficult to tell this, but we always take the decision together.”

Chelsea signed N’Golo Kante, Michy Batshuayi and Marcos Alonso in the summer, with David Luiz joining late in the same transfer window.
