Antonio Conte has confirmed that Chelsea will look to loan out Michy Batshuayi if they bring in another striker.

It comes amid reports that Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Roma’s former Manchester City forward Edin Džeko.

Several other strikers have been linked with potential moves to Stamford Bridge, while a number of clubs have been linked with Batshuayi.

The 24-year-old Belgian has been unable to establish himself as a first-team player at Chelsea since arriving from Marseille in the summer of 2016 and has managed just two league goals this season.

Blues boss Conte has repeatedly defended Batshuayi but is ready to let him go elsewhere.

“If another striker arrives then Batshuayi will go on loan,” Conte said.

“I think he wants to have the opportunity to play with regularity. I think this is right.”
