Antonio Conte says he doubts Chelsea are trying to sign Alexis Sanchez.

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are battling with Manchester United to sign the Arsenal forward during this month’s transfer window.

However, asked at a media conference on Tuesday if Chelsea are attempting to buy the Chilean, Blues boss Conte said: “I don’t know. I don’t know but I don’t think so.”

The Italian added: “As you know very well, I prefer to talk to the club and to give an opinion. I don’t want to give my opinion (to the media) on the transfer market.”

Conte also indicated that Michy Batshuayi will feature in Wednesday’s FA Cup third-round replay against Norwich despite reports the striker is on the verge of a loan move to Spanish club Sevilla.

“Michy is a Chelsea player. He’s in our squad and tomorrow he has to play,” Conte said.

“This is the truth. He is now a Chelsea player, having the possibility to show that he deserves to play for Chelsea. This is the reality.

“Then in the future, I don’t know what will happen. Also, the final decision is for the club not for me.”
