Christensen signs new long-term Chelsea contract

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract.

The 21-year-old Dane has been hugely impressive for Chelsea this season and is now under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2022.

Since returning from German club Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he spent two seasons on loan, Christensen has made 22 appearances for the Blues.

He has established himself as a first-team player, ousting the out-of-favour David Luiz from the side.

“It feels really good to sign a new contract and I’m just happy to be committed to Chelsea for the future,” Christensen told Chelsea’s website.

“I’ve played a lot of games, I’m enjoying it at the club and everything is working well.”
