Chelsea’s Mikel on course for April return

Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi is expected to return to action shortly after the international break.

The 27-year-old Nigerian has been recovering from a knee injury and has not featured for the Blues since early last month.

But manager Jose Mourinho says Mikel is close to being available again.

“He is in the end of his recovery and normally after the international period he will be back to training and back to playing,” Mourinho said.

Chelsea’s next game after Sunday’s trip to Hull is at home against Stoke City on 4 April.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has refused to be drawn on reports linking him with a summer move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
