Chelsea’s Ake joins Reading on loan

Chelsea’s Netherlands Under-21 international Nathan Ake has joined Reading on a month’s loan.

The versatile 20-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, has been signed by former Blues right-back and assistant boss Steve Clarke and also links up with Chelsea team-mate Nathaniel Chalobah.

Ake has made 11 appearances for Chelsea’s first team.

But despite being a regular squad member, he has only played four games this season and has not featured in the Premier League.
