Chelsea youngsters beaten by Leicester

Chelsea’s youngsters suffered a fourth consecutive defeat as Leicester beat them 1-0 in the Under-21 Premier League.

The visitors went ahead after only three minutes at Chelsea’s Coham training ground when Harry Panayiotou dispossessed Dion Conroy and fired past keeper Mitchell Beeney.

Leicester continued to press during a lively start and almost went further through Joe Dodoo’s deflected free-kick, which struck the post, and Beeney was called upon before the interval to deny Panayioyou and Anthony Knockaert.

Chelsea enjoyed a spell of pressure after the break and Alex Kiwomya [pictured] had a great chance to equalise but could only shoot straight at keeper Adam Smith, who also kept out two efforts from Nathan Ake.

Jeremie Boga also had a chance to level, as did Kasey Palmer, who sent a shot wide of the near post late on.
