England Under-21 boss Aidy Boothroyd believes Tammy Abraham has the potential to reach the top.

Abraham, who is on loan at Swansea from Chelsea, starred in the Under-21s’ 3-1 win against Scotland on Friday.

He scored with a penalty and set up former Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke for England’s third goal.

“He’s one of those players who will go through dry spells but he is so capable and enthusiastic he lights up the dressing room and the pitch when he goes out there,” Boothroyd said.

“He’s got a really good chance of developing into a really good player. He wants to get better.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante picked up a hamstring injury while playing for France against Bulgaria.
