Atsu set to complete Newcastle move

Newcastle are expected to complete a deal to sign Christian Astu from Chelsea.

The Ghana winger, 24, has not made a first-team appearance for the Blues since being signed from Porto in 2013.

During that time he has been sent out on loan to Everton, Bournemouth, Vitesse Arnhem and Malaga.

A number of Championship clubs have expressed an interest in signing him, but Newcastle are close to agreeing a deal.

Atsu is expected to move to St James’ Park on loan with a view to an eventual permanent move.
