Courtois: I won’t be joining Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid and insisted he will still be at Chelsea next season.

The goalkeeper, who spent three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, has been consistently touted for a move to Real.

But Spanish media have quoted Courtois as saying: “Real Madrid? I don’t see myself there, I see myself at Chelsea. I feel like I’m a key player in the team.

“I don’t see myself anywhere else. I won’t be at Real Madrid next season.

“Here at Chelsea, we’re fighting for the league and the FA Cup and I’m happy.”

Courtois, who has two years of his contract left to run, also suggested he would be willing to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

“In London, everything is going well for me and I’m happy,” he said.

“Would I like to be offered a renewal? Certainly. I’m very happy at Chelsea and if they want me to stay, great.”
