Chelsea pair nursing minor injuries

Andre Schurrle and Eden Hazard are expected to shake off minor injuries in time for their national teams’ Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Schurrle is nursing a knock and did not train with the rest of the Germany squad on Tuesday or Wednesday but looks likely to be passed fit for Saturday’s game against Poland.

And his Chelsea team-mate Hazard is hopeful of being available for Belgium’s match against Andorra this Friday despite picking up a toe injury in his club’s recent 2-0 victory over Arsenal.

Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois was given the all-clear to join the Belgium squad despite being taken off after suffering a head injury in the win against the Gunners.

His condition is being assessed and Belgium boss Marc Wilmots has indicated that he could yet select Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet against Andorra instead.

Germany and Belgium both have qualifiers next week too, against the Republic of Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina respectively.

Chelsea are next in action on 18 October when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
