Holders Chelsea drew 1-1 at Manchester City in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final.

Mason Mount put the visitors ahead at City’s Academy Stadium, where Aaron Nemane’s 68th-minute equaliser left the tie finely poised ahead of Wednesday’s second leg at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were on top for much of the first half, with Jay Dasilva’s cross bouncing off the bar and Dujon Sterling firing over.

Fikayo Tomori then missed a good chance for the Blues when he headed Trevoh Chalobah’s cross wide of the target.

But another cross from Chalobah led to the opening goal, Mount steering the ball home four minutes after the interval.

City hit back with Nemane’s curling shot and Dasilva went close to restoring Chelsea’s lead late on.
