Chelsea complete signing of Rudiger

Chelsea have completed the signing of Germany defender Antonio Rudiger from Roma for an initial fee of £29m.

Rudiger, 24, has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge and the transfer fee could rise to £33.3m with add-ons.

“It’s a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this,” said Rudiger.

Rudiger will wear the number two shirt left vacant after Branislav Ivanovic’s move to Zenit St Petersburg in February.
