Chelsea youngsters destroy West Ham

Chelsea’s Under-18s hammered West Ham 5-2 in a thrilling final game of the calendar year.

They cruised to victory, with Ike Ugbo scoring twice and Kasey Palmer, Kyle Scott and Faiq Bolkiah completing the scoring.

Ugbo netted the opener with a close-range effort and Scott’s penalty ensured a 2-1 interval lead.

Substitute Faiq finished off a fine move to make it 3-1, Palmer’s superb long-range hit put the result beyond doubt and Ugbo followed up to add a fifth Blues goal late on.

The result continued a trend of emphatic victories by Chelsea’s youngsters.

The Under-19s thrashed Sporting 5-0 and 6-0, Maribor 7-0 and Schalke 4-1 in the Uefa Youth League and in October the Under-18s demolished Aston Villa 12-2.
