Chelsea boss not interested in Reus

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted the club have no interest in signing Marco Reus.

The Blues have recently been linked with the 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder, with Mourinho reported to have made Reus his top target for the January transfer window.

And there has been speculation that Chelsea’s Germany international Andre Schurrle could be offered as part of a swap deal, having struggled for fitness and form this season.

However, asked by the German media ahead of his team’s Champions League game against Schalke, Mourinho said he was not looking to sign Reus.

“The market is closed and the player belongs to Borussia Dortmund,” he said.

“He is a fantastic player, obviously, but we have top players in that position.

“I also have fantastic relations with the coach and the general director of Dortmund. No secrets. There is nothing in it.”
