Chelsea agree deal to sign defender Djilobodji

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Chelsea v Manchester City - Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have agreed the signing of Senegal international Papy Djilobodji from Nantes.

The Blues have decided to bring in the 26-year-old defender after Everton refused to sell England centre-back John Stones.

Djilobodji, who is in the final year of his contract, has made more than 160 appearances for Nantes since joining the French club in 2010.

Boss Jose Mourinho has been keen to add to his defensive options following a disappointing start to the season by the champions.

Chelsea have conceded nine goals in their first four league games and are eight points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Victor Moses has signed a new deal at Chelsea and joined West Ham on a season-long loan.
