Cahill accused by Bruce after Chelsea win

Steve Bruce was furious that Gary Cahill was not sent off after seemingly diving during Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Hull City.

The Blues defender, booked for a challenge on Sone Aluko, escaped a second yellow card after going down in the box.

His team-mate Diego Costa was booked for diving during the game and Chelsea’s Willian also took a tumble.

Hull boss Bruce said: “Should Cahill have gone? The answer is yes.

“It wasn’t a difficult decision. At places like this you need to the referee to make the right calls.

“We all know what he’s tried to do. He’s tried to win the penalty. The referee was standing 10 yards away.

“The reason people enjoy the Premier League is the honesty and integrity of it and we must stamp out this simulation.”

Bruce also suggested that Cahill could have been red-carded for his “reckless” challenge on Aluko but he admitted that Hull’s Tom Huddlestone deserved his red card for scything down Filipe Luis.
