Boost for Chelsea as key players train

Chelsea’s John Terry, Eden Hazard and Petr Cech all took part in training on Tuesday morning, as did Samuel Eto’o.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho suggested that skipper Terry and goalkeeper Cech could miss the rest of the season after both went off injured during last week’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid.

But Terry, who injured his ankle, could yet be involved in Wednesday’s second leg, while Hazard and striker Eto’o have been recovering from calf and knee problems respectively.

Stand-in keeper Mark Schwarzer came on for Cech against Atletico and impressed for Chelsea in their stunning win at Liverpool on Sunday.

Cech suffered a shoulder injury after landing awkwardly while defending a corner.

Chelsea will be without midfielders John Mikel Obi and Frank Lampard for the return leg.

Both players are suspended after picking up their second yellow cards of the knockout stages at Atletico’s Vicente Calderon stadium.
