Boga in line for senior Chelsea debut

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he hopes to give Jeremie Boga his first-team debut in the final game of the season against Sunderland on Sunday.

Midfielder Boga, 18, has been a regular for the Under-21 side this season and Mourinho is eager to play the French midfielder and Danish defender Andreas Christensen at some point during the game against the Black Cats.

But Eden Hazard is a doubt after having dental surgery.

“I hope to play Christensen and Boga,” Mourinho said. “But Hazard has had surgery to remove three wisdom teeth. He didn’t train today.”

That would mean the Belgian would not be able to join defenders John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic, who will have started every Premier League match this season if they play.

Mourinho also confirmed that striker Diego Costa will play and that goalkeeper Petr Cech will play some part in what could be his final game for the club.

Cech, 32, is expected to leave the club in the summer having lost his place to Thibaut Courtois.
