Ba’s agent ‘speaking with other clubs’

Chelsea striker Demba Ba has told a French radio station his representatives are trying to secure him a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Ba, 28, has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular since a £7m move from Newcastle last year and has not started a match for the Blues since December.

The Senegal international has been widely tipped to leave the club in the summer, when Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho plans to significantly strengthen his attacking options.

“My agent has spoken to the club about a departure and he has started speaking with other clubs about a contract for next season,” Ba told RMC.

“I hope we can find the best option possible. I’d like to stay in England, but I like other leagues too.

“I’d like to try the Italian league. There are a few teams in Italy who play very good football.”
