Solskjaer happy with squad after Fulham draw

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer heaped praise on his side’s second-half display in the 1-1 draw at Fulham.

Kenwyne Jones netted his fourth goal in five games to earn the Bluebirds a point, after Tim Hoogland had put the home side in front in the 22nd minute.

Solskjaer admitted he had to give his side a verbal volley at the break after a below-par first half but was delighted with the response in the second period.

He said: “They were a completely different side. The only thing [missing] was getting more shots on goal.

“It wasn’t anything practical we had to change. We just had to move the ball quicker.

“Fulham have got talented players. They played some slick passes and deserved the lead.

“There were a couple of times they could have scored a second and that would have been much more difficult [to come back from].

“The attitude and reaction in the second half was very pleasing.

“Any game away from home you’re going to be under pressure and you just have to withstand it.”

Solskjaer added he wasn’t looking to add to his squad with the transfer deadline looming – but wouldn’t rule out moving players on.

He said: “I am very happy with this squad of players.

“We’ve done our business very early and I’m not looking for anything in particular. If something really spectacular comes up, we will maybe look at it.

“We will see Tuesday morning who’s here and who’s not.”
