Young Brentford trio sign new deals

Brentford youngsters James Ferry, Tom Field and Zain Westbrooke have all signed one-year extensions to their contracts.

All three became first-year professionals in the summer after coming through the club’s academy and have been part of the Under-21 side this season.

Midfielder Ferry, 18, is captain of the team while left-back Field, also 18, recently started against Premier League side Bournemouth in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Midfielder Westbrook, who turned 19 last month, played in 12 Under-21 games this season before picking up an injury.

Kevin O’Connor, head coach of Brentford’s development squad, told the club’s official website: “This is just reward for James, Tom and Zain for their hard work, effort and performance over the past five months, their first as professionals.

“This is a great opportunity for them and they can develop and mature for another year with us.”
