Brentford make Hogan available to face Chelsea

Brentford striker Scott Hogan will be available for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at Chelsea, despite continued speculation over his future.

Hogan, who remains a target for West Ham, has not featured for the Bees since scoring his 14th goal of the season at Birmingham on 2 January.

He was left out of the FA Cup third-round win over Eastleigh as an injury precaution and was then an unused substitute in the defeat by Championship leaders Newcastle, as interest in him grew.

Brentford boss Dean Smith had insisted Hogan would return to the fold at Wigan last weekend, but the striker did not travel with the squad after it emerged he had received a phone call about a new offer.

Smith said after that game that Hogan had had his head turned by the ongoing saga, but has now said he will be considered for selection for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Brentford also remain in negotiations to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Florian Jozefzoon.

West London Sport revealed on Wednesday that the Bees had agreed a deal with PSV and Smith confirmed they had been in talks with the 25-year-old, with a deal close but not yet complete.
