Hammers out of the running to sign Bees star Hogan

West Ham appear to have pulled out of the running to sign Brentford striker Scott Hogan.

The two clubs have been in talks over the 24-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season.

But West Ham indicated on the eve of the transfer window closing that they are not going to pursue a deal for Hogan, who has also attracted interest from Crystal Palace ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

Palace have made an enquiry about Hogan, while reports have claimed that West Brom and Aston Villa are also interested.

Brentford want to sign Sergi Canos from Norwich City with the money from the sale of Hogan should the former Rochdale forward leave Griffin Park.

Canos impressed for the Bees last season while on loan from Liverpool and he subsequently moved to East Anglia, where he has been unable to establish himself as a first-team player.
