Villa complete signing of Hogan from Brentford

Brentford striker Scott Hogan has completed a move to Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half–year contract with Villa, after the two clubs agreed a fee of £9m, potentially rising to £12m with add-ons.

West Ham, who had a bid for Hogan rejected, indicated earlier on Tuesday that they were not going to pursue a deal.

With Hogan’s head turned, the Bees were keen to cash in on their top scorer to fund the signing of Sergi Canos from Norwich.

The Spanish teenager, who impressed while on loan from Liverpool last season, has returned to Griffin Park for £2.5m.

Brentford have also added young Slovenian forward Jan Novak to their B squad, while last week they completed the signing of winger Florian Jozefzoon from PSV Eindhoven.
