Spurs plan to delay decision on Pritchard

Tottenham have told Brentford they plan to decide Alex Pritchard’s future next summer.

Pritchard, 21, has impressed on loan at Griffin Park this season and the Bees are interested in a permanent deal.

Spurs do not intend to activate a January break clause in his season-long loan, but they have indicated they want him to return and feature during their pre-season before a decision is made on whether he can leave White Hart Lane.

Brentford could still try to tempt the north London club with an offer when the transfer window reopens next month, with Pritchard having caught the eye during their successful start to life in the Championship.

Tottenham, however, are keen to give their youngsters every chance to make the grade and have involved Harry Kane and Ryan Mason in the first team this season.

Pritchard has played in all 21 of Brentford’s Championship matches, starting 19 of them and scoring three goals.
