Pritchard tipped for Spurs and England

Mark Warburton believes Alex Pritchard will go on to “grace White Hart Lane” following his successful loan spell at Brentford from Tottenham.

Pritchard, 22, will find out this summer whether he will be given a shot at making the grade in Spurs’ first team next season and Warburton sees no reason why the player cannot establish himself for the north London club – and play for England.

“I think Alex Pritchard will play at the very highest level, I really do,” said the Bees boss.

“I would never speak for a Premier League club or another manager but, in my opinion, I think he will go on to grace White Hart Lane and he’s got all the ability to play for England.

“He’s a very bright British talent and has that edge to his game; the ability, hunger, and desire to keep improving.

“He’s graced the Championship this year and there’s no doubt there is much more to come. He’s still got things to learn but, for me, he’s an outstanding talent.”

Pritchard has scored 12 goals in 46 games this season and is in contention to make the England Under-21s squad for the European Championships in June.

“I’d love to see him do well for Gareth Southgate’s side in the Czech Republic this summer,” Warburton added.

“When you go back to a club the size of Tottenham then you’ve got to deal with other hurdles. He’s had a lot of pitch time here and it’s about dealing with that.”
