New boss keen for Bees to keep Gray

Brentford’s new head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen says he is hopeful Andre Gray will stay at Griffin Park.

The striker, 23, scored 18 goals last season and there has been speculation over his future, with reports claiming QPR are looking to sign him.

Dijkhuizen has heard good things about Gray and other Bees players and is keen for the club to keep him.

“Yes, I hope we can,” said the Dutchman.

“I have a lot of quality players like [James] Tarkowski, Gray, Jota and also a good goalkeeper in [David] Button.

“We want to get better as a club and, as a team, better as well.”
