Brentford’s Bentley is ‘best keeper at this level’

Millwall manager Neil Harris has insisted that Brentford’s Dan Bentley is the best goalkeeper in the Championship.

A number of keepers in the second tier, including QPR’s Alex Smithies, have been touted for moves to the Premier League in the last year or so.

But Harris, who knows Bentley from their time at Southend United, believes the Bees stopper is the pick of the bunch.

Harris said: “He’s a Premier League goalkeeper. I’ve played with him and now against him. He’s the best goalkeeper at this level.”

Bentley saved a late penalty from Lee Gregory and produced other outstanding saves in Brentford’s 1-0 win against Millwall on Saturday.
