Brentford’s Dallas seals Leeds move

Brentford have confirmed the sale of winger Stuart Dallas to Championship rivals Leeds United.

The Northern Ireland international has signed a three-year contract at Elland Road, having completed a medical on Monday.

Dallas will be reunited with former Bees boss Uwe Rosler at Leeds, after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be around £1.2m.

Rosler brought Dallas to Brentford in 2012 from Ulster side Crusaders and the midfielder went on to make more than 50 league appearances for the club.

The 24-year-old’s tally of eight goals in 43 appearances last season included two superb strikes in an away victory at Fulham.

Phil Giles, Brentford’s co-director of football, said: “Stuart and I spoke on several occasions about his future and reached the conclusion that it was in the best interests of everyone to accept an offer from Leeds.”

The Bees’ boss Marinus Dijkhuizen added: “I enjoyed working with Stuart over recent weeks and seeing him play in some of our pre-season matches.

“He is a talented player and I’m sure he will have a successful career at Leeds.”

The two sides meet at Elland Road on 12 September, with Dallas’ return to Griffin Park due on 30 January.
