Dallas targets another Bees victory

Brentford midfielder Stuart Dallas is targeting victory over Nottingham Forest to further cement his side’s promotion push.

The Northern Ireland international scored two excellent goals from distance as the Bees thrashed Fulham 4-1 on Good Friday to lift them back into the top five.

A tough run-in begins with the visit of Forest on Easter Monday and, with the top eight sides in the Championship separated by just seven points, Dallas admitted Brentford could ill afford any setbacks in the final six matches.

He said: “A lot of people maybe wrote us off at the start of the year, they said that we would fade away.

“But we’ve shown that we’re good enough to compete and on our day, in my opinion, we’re one of the best in the league. We’ve just got to prove that now in our last six games.

“We can only take one game at a time and that’s Monday against Forest. They’re a good side, they’re going to come and give it a go and we’ve got to be at the top of our game.

“There’s no bad team in this league and Forest are up there as well. We’ve just to keep our concentration and hopefully we can get another three points.”

Dallas also paid tribute to the Brentford supporters, more than 6,000 of whom packed out the Putney End at Craven Cottage to watch the incredible derby unfold.

He said: “They were incredible from the first to the last minute against Fulham. They deserved that win.

“They’ve stuck by us this season, they travel in numbers to away games and at home they’re incredible. They’ve driven us on at times when we’ve needed them.

“That one was for them.”
