Long extends loan deal at Brentford

Brentford have extended the loan of Everton striker Chris Long until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old’s stay at Griffin Park expired on Saturday but the two clubs have agreed he can remain with the Bees until 2 May, the final round of Championship matches.

The loan can be extended again if Brentford reach the play-offs.

Long has scored four goals in 10 appearances for the Bees but injury and illness have prevented him playing in the past few weeks.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton said: “Chris is a very talented player and one we very much look forward to welcoming back to the club for the remainder of the season.

“It is always pleasing to have a top Premier League club show their trust and confidence in Brentford by agreeing to have one of their top young talents continue his development at Griffin Park.”
