Brentford boss explains Long’s absence

Chris Long missed Brentford’s 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest because of a stomach bug, manager Mark Warburton explained.

Forward Long, on-loan from Everton, was missing from the Bees line-up for the game at Griffin Park, where Jota’s last-gasp equaliser rescued a point for the home side.

Long had been due to play, with Warburton keen to rest Andre Gray, but was not fit enough to join the squad.

Warburton confirmed: “The intention was to start with Chris and rest Andre, but he has a stomach bug so that changed at the last minute.”
